The Asian Tsunami

At the time of writing, over 100,000 people have been proclaimed dead as a result of the tsunami. Tragic as this incident is, I must question the source of aid to the Asian people.

To libertarians, aid to foreign nations should come from private sources. In that sense, I am glad that over £40 million of private funds has been raised thus far. But the state should possess no role providing aid. Why? Because government's only foreign policy role should be to safeguard the nation against threats to its sovereignty.
